The months keep flying

I had every intention of quickly posting some of Liam's birthday pictures right after his birthday (back on January 6th) so my emotional birthday post wouldn't be in any one's face when/if they checked our blog...so here I am a month later!
Steve and I discussed how to celebrate Liam's birthday but were quickly influenced by our 14 and 16 year old live in party planners. Liam's posse is pretty limited for now so we decided to include our ever so supportive neighbors, family and close friends. We started the evening, as every good Chinese birthday boy should, with fireworks followed by dinner, presents and cake.

This is one of a precious few pictures of all of us looking at the camera with our eyes open :)

Liam is quickly learning the American custom at children's birthday parties-being smothered by the other children.

Liam has continued to work hard in his speech therapy. One task he had been working on over the last couple of months has been blowing. He blows paper confetti, his recorder and lately we had been practicing blowing out candles. We really hyped up how cool his birthday candles would be. The night of his party the 5 of us waited with baited breath as the birthday song was sung just hoping he could do it for this group of onlookers. And YES, he succeeded! He ate up all the excitement as everyone cheered his accomplishment. Enough so that Steve lit and re-lit his candles as I cut the cake for everyone else! We are so proud of you birthday boy!

Chinese New Year. To celebrate we had our friends over for a delicious Chinese dinner. We enjoyed reliving our memories of China.

'LIAM THE AUDITOR'

This is one way to help Liam with his standing balance

St. Louis has a super cool sledding locale located in Forest Park in front of the Art museum and appropriately called 'Art Hill'. Each year I try to take the kids there at least one time. This hill is not for the faint at heart...and apparently not for Liam just yet either. He and I made quite the dynamic duo as we flew down the hill (think Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation) barreling through the hay bails at the bottom until mom aborted the mission so we didn't end up in the scenic pond at the bottom (just missing the truck delivering additional hay bails by only a few minutes!)

Bye bye until next time.

  3. Paige, how funny that you hadn't seen our blog updates! That has happened to me with a couple of the blogs I follow too. I don't know why they stop showing up in my feed. It's so strange. I'm glad you were able to get caught up on our life with Louis. :)
