There are certain traditions we have been telling Liam about and this happens to be one of them. My own family used to cut down our Christmas tree when I was younger and this is a tradition Steve and I wanted to pass down to our children. We have been going with Steve's family to cut our tree down for as long as we have lived in St. Louis. There are some years we have gone in short sleeves and a few years the guys have worn shorts. This didn't happen to be one of those years! We had hyped this day up to Liam and I am not sure he knew what to make of it. He loved starting the day by helping mommy make pancakes. He is quite the whiz in the kitchen. However, there was a gross difference in the amount of clothing necessary to make pancakes in our 77 degree kitchen versus the sub-freezing outdoors. Liam remained quiet and stoic as we rode the tractor out to the tree orchard (?)and then as we sought out the bestest tree. He didn't seem impressed that we all believed this was the best tree we have ever had. He was equally disenchanted with the ride back to the barn but then in typical Liam fashion he came to life as he tasted the kettle corn and elephant ears. The boy knows what he likes. He once again became his jovial self sitting indoors in front of a roaring fire place munching on his new favorite sweet treats.
World class pancakes!
Liam making sure to adjust the radio for the ride home. He wasn't so impressed with our duet of "Baby It's Cold Outside" on the car ride there
Liam rarely dozes off in the car. However, in this case he was zonked. I think we better pace these holiday traditions so as to not wear this little man out
