Relaxing at the Lake

Each year the kids and I tag along with daddy to his conference at the Lake of the Ozarks. We stay at Tan-Tar-A and I don't think it has changed at all in the years we have been going. For that matter, I don't think it has changed in the 50 years the resort has been in existence. We had been concerned that it was a little soon to take Liam out of his recently established routine but at the same time the other 3 kiddos really look forward to this getaway each year. Well, in typical Liam fashion he rolled with the punches and had a great time. The older 3 are so great with their brother that it really has made this entire summer easy. I am dreading the kids returning to school which just happens to conicide with my return to work. So for this last week I will attempt to live in the moment and abosrb each second of each day with these 4 blessings God has gifted to us to raise.

Usually I try to keep the blog about Liam and give our older 3 their privacy (not so sure they want everyone out there learning about their lives). But, I had to include this picture of Jenna. The reptile man came for a demonstration and chose Jenna to display this lizard like thing. He had her convinced it has started to make the signal that it had to go the bathroom so he was attempting to remove it from her head...not before he proceeded to pour water on her hair. She must have jumped 2 feet in the air. The expression on her face was priceless.

Liam loved feeding the fish. He was oh so careful to only feed them one pellet at a time. Needless to say that he had a captive audience between the fish and the ducks.

As I mentioned above Tan-Tar-A hasn't changed a bit. Definitely little, if any, modification since the American with Disabilities Act was enacted. There were exactly 43 stairs up to our room. Liam may not be super heavy but needless to say I had no guilt over eating frozen yogurt.

We tried to explain to Liam that walking on the pull out sofa was much more difficult than walking on the floor. He begged to differ.

Really...could I be any cuter????
