Life goes on

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!
We spent July 3rd with the neighbors and Liam had a great time. We were cautiously optimistic that he would like fireworks as we heard them going off all times of the day and night every day of the week when we were in his province. Well...we were right. He LOVED them. We had been working on clapping and he decided this was the perfect ocassion for his clapping debut!

Anyone for a game of peek-a-boo??

What a face!

We had sent Liam a picture album of his soon-to-be new family while he was still in China. At our agencies recommendation we made a duplicate copy in case we didn't get it back. We are glad we did as he seems to enjoy looking through it. However, we didn't realize how much. The other night, he pulled it off the coffee table and proceeded to give a slobbery kiss to each of the pictures. I am sure our "aaaawwwwwww; you are the cutest" reaction somewhat egged him on!

Okay, this picture here is my absolute favorite. This picture captures mom's favorite expression on Liam. It is accompanied by the sweetest sound effect. The family knows it is my favorite and when we hear the "sound" they let me know my baby is making my favorite face! Funny thing is that we saw this expression in one of the pictures we received before we had met Liam and I was a little puzzled by it. LOL that it is now my absolte FAV!

Anyone home?

Our adoption agency happens to be in our hometown. That isn't necessary and is more coincidental. This weekend happened to be their annual reunion. We had been concerned that going would be too much for him too soon (500 people!). The girls and I decided at the last minute that we would go. It brought tears to my eyes to see so many beautifully diverse familes. Well, as the picture shows, Liam had a blast.

  1. 4.5 years later, Lia STILL loves looking through the album we made for her when we travelled. I'm glad Liam continues to enjoy his as well.

Does Liam EVER take a bad photo? Every last one is smiling and cute. Surely he must scowl at least once a day...

  3. What a handsome little guy! I love that he's kissing your photo book. We were so happy that Louis brought his home with him from China, especially since we weren't smart enough to make a copy for ourselves before we shipped it to him! Liam looks so happy and you capture his emotions so beautifully in your photos!
